Today is the day!
After two and a half years of intensive work to fulfill a 13-year dream, my co-author Terry Marcotte and I get to celebrate our book Hockey Moms: the Heart of the Game that is in-
stores today!
Coincidentally today is also the 20th birthday of my oldest son, the one who made me a hockey mom.
It's been an interesting time in hockey over the last few months, but as I have said time and time again - the structure and governance of hockey and the love we have for hockey are two different things.
The certainly impact each other, but nothing will impact the love our kids have for the game, or our love of our kids supporting them in their journeys.
I'll be talking much more about the book in the days to come. Thank you to everyone who has supported us on this journey and HarperCollins Canada who gave us this opportunity.
And thank you to the moms who shared their beautiful, heart-felt stories for our book. You'll be meeting them over the next few days.
Part of my proceeds from this book are going to two charities.
1) The Carnegie Initiative that aims to make hockey inclusive and accepting,
2) The Angel Project that provides support and funding for complex care patients.
I can't wait to share these stories with you.
Until then, happy hockey!
Theresa
